Germany – Grounds maintenance services – Deichunterhaltung Grasmahd/Hutung 2027-2030

The subject of the contract is the maintenance of dikes for the care periods of the years 2027 to 2030. The maintenance of the dikes includes, in accordance with § 56 ThürWG, in particular the regular care of the grass cover, the inspection for damage and its removal, as well as the control of pests. To maintain a permanently dense grass cover with good soil compaction, reference is made to § 58 ThürWG, the dike maintenance should preferably be carried out by the area-related compatible grazing of sheep. Taking into account the maintenance of a uniform grass cover and the removal of plant species that are avoided by grazing animals (e.g. sorrel, nettle, field scabious) or the prevention of their seeding, however, an additional mechanical mowing or re-mowing of the dike areas must be carried out. In addition, purely mechanical mowing is carried out on sections which are classified as unsuitable for grazing. These include, for example, sections with cycle paths integrated into the dike systems, dike sections with adjacent residential and infrastructure areas, and dike sections in the area of heavily frequented roads. The services of dike maintenance extend over the areas of responsibility of the river master's offices of the regional areas of Central and Northern Thuringia. The areas or dike sections to be treated are divided into 60 lots. Due to the geographical location, 23 lots are assigned to the Central Thuringia region and 37 lots to the Northern Thuringia region. According to the content-related requirements and specifications for dike maintenance, a distinction is made between the contract lots for grazing, re-mowing and mechanical mowing.
