The Ministry of Transport Baden-Württemberg (VM) fulfils, in accordance with § 53a para. 1 No. 3 and 4 of the Baden-Württemberg Road Law, „tasks in the field of roads to be centrally performed throughout the state“ including, among others, • „traffic management“, • „planning, construction and control of traffic-influencing installations“, • „operational monitoring of tunnel facilities“, • as well as the „establishment and operation of the traffic and tunnel control centre“ in the area of roads in the responsibility of the state or the federal government. In order to fulfil the statutory mandate, the VM is currently planning, in addition to the establishment of a Traffic Management Centre (VMZ), the implementation and implementation of a Traffic Management System (VMS BW) as a central operational system for dynamic regional traffic management. With the present tendering procedure, the procurement of IT components consisting of a „traffic management system“ with a „strategy workplace“ for the planned VMS BW as well as the operation of the manufactured/processed IT components by the contractor and the transfer of the IT components for use by the client.
