Germany – Architectural and related services – Neubau der Grundschule Berghofer Straße mit Sporthalle und Lehrschwimmbecken, Sonthofen - Nichtoffener Realisierungswettbewerb nach RPW 2013 für Architekt:innen und Landschaftsarchitekt:innen

The competition is announced as a design competition. The procedure is conducted as a restricted competition with a preliminary qualification procedure. The admission area includes the EEA/WTO/GPA countries, the competition language is German, and the procedure is anonymous. The city of Sonthofen plans the new construction of the primary school at Berghofer Straße. The adjacent secondary school is to be taken into account in the open space planning (accesses and common open spaces). The project task includes, in addition to the urban design placement of the new building in the context of the campus idea, the new planning of the primary school with a sports hall and a teaching swimming pool. The existing school site currently consists of the main building from 1958, an extension from 2011, and the sports hall with a teaching swimming pool in a separate building. Adjacent to the existing buildings are currently parking areas and break areas with valuable tree stock. Currently, 295 pupils attend the primary school, distributed across 18 classes. In the future, the school is to be designed for 16 classes plus one flex class with a total of approximately 342 pupils. A whole-day concept in the form of "cooperative all-day" care is planned. As part of the performance phase 0, surveys, analyses, and evaluations of the primary school and kindergarten buildings were carried out. Additionally, workshops with the school and kindergarten families took place. In the course of the detailed further examination, the deficiencies were identified and adjusted. In the course of the cost-effectiveness study, it shows that, due to structural and functional deficiencies, a new building is necessary. As part of the competition, a new building design is sought that architecturally depicts the school as a solitary structure and coherently implements contemporary learning spaces according to the pedagogical approach of Rosan Bosch.
