Germany – Construction work for water projects – Ertüchtigung Hafen Niehl I, Becken 4a, Hafeneinfassung Spundwände

The Häfen und Güterverkehr Köln AG (HGK) must adapt the existing ports to the new generation of ships. The modern ships have a capacity of up to 10,000 t and thus almost 10 times that of the ships from the 1960s. The new requirements necessitate not only increasing the loading and storage capacities, but also reinforcing the quay facilities. The measure to be tendered below provides for the renewal of the quay wall in the Niehl port "Am Molenkopf", the south-east and north sides of basin 4a, so that it meets the legal requirements for stability for at least the next 50 years.
