With the expiry of the current performance contracts, Rijkswaterstaat faces the task of procuring maintenance parties through a tender to carry out variable maintenance on at least approximately 40 structures of the Lemmer-Delfzijl Main Waterway (HLD). The variable maintenance of the dam walls, riverbank protection, and the waterway profile is not part of this contract. To carry out the variable maintenance needs of the structures: bridges and locks, it has been decided to include these in a framework agreement where the maintenance needs consist of civil works, mechanical and electrical works.
