Description

With the construction of the new town hall in 2001, Marquartstein established a new urban focal point. It is prominently situated in a solitary location in the southern part of the former railway facilities and, together with the inn and the church, forms a typical Bavarian "trinity". The town hall has become a central public building with a strong impact in all directions. From an urban planning perspective, the municipality of Marquartstein aims to strengthen the town centre to the north of the town hall by constructing a school building, a daycare centre and a multi-purpose hall as an educational and cultural focal point (implementation part). The public open spaces in the area of the former railway line are to be upgraded and designed with a diverse range of facilities (idea part). The competition area covers a total area of approximately 1.3 ha. _____ The construction of a new single-track primary school with full-day care is planned, with a gross floor area (GFA) of approximately 1,900 m², which offers a family-friendly framework for educational care. The school sees itself as a communal learning and living space and actively integrates nature, movement and sustainability into the school day. The new building is to provide space for approximately 100 children and flexible rooms for teaching, digital learning, creative work and communal use. _____ The planned daycare centre is to serve as a mixed facility for kindergarten and nursery with a gross floor area (GFA) of approximately 1,200 m². Children aged one year to school age will be cared for in the daycare centre and supported in their overall development. The child-friendly rooms and nature-oriented outdoor areas are functionally designed, offer safety, orientation and diverse development opportunities, and support the structured daily routine as well as close cooperation with parents. _____ The municipality intends to build a multi-purpose hall that can be used for a variety of purposes and is to become a central component of the new social centre in Marquartstein as a lively meeting place for all generations and, in addition, is to be available for physical education classes at the primary school. The multi-purpose hall, including supplementary uses, is to be planned with a gross floor area (GFA) of approximately 1,200 m². _____ Based on the current state of knowledge, the contracting authority classifies the building design for the primary school and daycare centre in fee zone III and for the multi-purpose hall in fee zone IV. Based on the current state of knowledge, the contracting authority classifies the landscape design in fee zone IV. _____ With the present competition, the contracting authority expects a concept that is appropriate from an urban planning perspective for the site, as well as design, functional and economic (in terms of production, maintenance and operating costs) convincing solutions for the planned construction projects.
