Spain – Flood-prevention works – Contratación de servicios para protección frente a inundaciones en el Barranco de la Saleta. Tramo 2, Aldaia Vía Verde, Valencia.

The purpose of the Project is to reduce the risk of flooding in the municipalities involved, primarily in Aldaia and Xirivella, by channeling the floods from the Barranco de la Saleta, caused by heavy rainfall at its source, to the new course of the Turia River, allowing for the environmental connection of the final stretch through the proposed greenway and increasing the current level of protection against the risk of flooding. The actions that comprise the Project include the environmental adaptation of the Barranco de la Saleta, a channeling that begins at the height of the CV 410 in the access to Aldaia, to its industrial zone and the Bonaire shopping center, a buried diversion conduit under the industrial park and skirting the urban center of Aldaia and a greenway of open section in lands from downstream of the roundabout joining Aldaia, Xirivella and Alaquas and the vicinity of the EDAR Quart Benager for its delivery in the new course of the Turia River. This is the sum of the solutions proposed in the projects Drainage of the Barranco de la Saleta in its passage through Aldaia and Quart de Poblet and Greenway of connection of the Barranco de la Saleta with the Turia River, Valencia adapted to the present, which will be included under a single project. The planned actions are part of the Measures Programme of the Flood Risk Management Plan, PGRI, of the Second Cycle of the Júcar River Basin District, approved by Royal Decree 26,2023, of 17 January, where they are included under the heading Conditioning of the Barranco de La Saleta. Section: Aldaia New course of the Turia and are included in the Plan for the recovery and improvement of resilience to flooding in the territory affected by the DANA in the Comunitat Valenciana. These works are considered to be in the general interest, in accordance with Annex II of the National Hydrological Plan approved by Law 10,2001, of 5 July, under the headings: Restoration and adaptation of the natural courses of the Barranco del Poyo. Phase I, and Restoration and adaptation of the natural courses of the Barrancos de Torrente, Chiva and Pozalet.
