The subject of the project is the renovation and conversion of the so-called Schoiereranwesen ("Old Butchery") in a central location in the Old Town of Bad Kötzting, directly next to the town hall. The renovation of the old butchery in Bad Kötzting is one of the five pilot projects of the model project "Leerstand jetzt WOHNEN" of the Bavarian State Ministry for Housing, Building and Transport in experimental housing construction and urban development. The historically developed, non-listed building complex features components from the 15th/16th century as well as numerous later renovations. The aim of the model project is the extensive preservation, the simple and cost-effective further development of the existing stock into affordable housing with supplementary public, communal and commercial uses. Flexible use areas on the ground floor and innovative apartments on the upper floors are planned. A landscaped courtyard with a new staircase and gallery access, communal rooms, a roof garden and storage areas complement the use concept. The planning should visibly preserve the different historical layers and develop them into a contemporary overall building with economical, simple and durable solutions. The feasibility study provided as an annex is the basis for the processing, especially for the analysis, but should be questioned and further developed.
