The state capital of Munich plans the new construction of a Mobile Space Unit (MRE) as a temporary accommodation for various schools on the outdoor sports facilities of the Grundschule Hirschbergstraße 33. The school building is to be erected in timber construction by a General Contractor (GU). No building permit is available. Due to the planned period of use, an indefinite building permit application is required. The requirements for climate-friendly construction are to be observed. The new building is to be designed for two school types with different usage requirements. Initially, the local primary school is to be relocated to the temporary accommodation for the duration of the general renovation with an extension. Subsequently, the temporary partial relocation of a neighbouring gymnasium is planned. If possible, open spaces of the existing school, e.g. playground and parking lot, should also be used by the MRE. The aim is to avoid the need for any construction work when changing the school orientation, if possible. Depending on the framework conditions, the final dimensioning of the MRE is to be coordinated. A design according to the corridor school principle is aimed for, without a learning house concept. Due to the inner-city location and impairments by traffic noise, special requirements for noise protection are to be expected. The temporary accommodation is to be created on the southern part of the entire site. Currently, there are outdoor sports and lawn playing fields as well as a publicly accessible green and playing area separated from them. The site area designated for the MRE is largely level and surrounded by protected trees and shrubs. The adjacent northern area with school playground and parking lot is slightly lower and separated by a listed enclosure (wall) or fences. According to a 2024 area study, a three-story building with a gross floor area of approx. 4,050 m² is to be expected. The planned site area of the MRE is approx. 3,550 m² plus approx. 600 m² of public green and playing area. The total site including the building is approx. 12,870 m².
