Description

The FHH, Special Fund „City and Port“ (SoV) represented by HafenCity Hamburg GmbH, is developing the new district of Grasbrook and connecting it to the surrounding urban areas. The future district of Grasbrook is located in the heart of Hamburg and will have its own distinct character. Its unique location opposite the HafenCity on the Norderelbe, in close proximity to Veddel, and its definition by three harbour basins, traffic integration, and spatial possibilities offer potential to create urban qualities on the southern Elbe riverbank and to connect spatially and conceptually with the adjacent Veddel. As part of this tender, planning and consulting services for the drainage of grey and wastewater in the Moldauhafen district and the drainage of wastewater, surface water, and the rainwater canal in the Hafentor district of the new Grasbrook district are to be awarded. The new district is divided into two districts, the Moldauhafen district (MHQ) and the Hafentor district (HTQ). The MHQ is located in the north of the district and is spatially bounded by the Norderelbe, the Moldauhafen basin, and the street Am Moldauhafen. According to the current planning status, approximately 465,000 m² of gross floor area (GFA) will be used to realise most of the planned apartments, as well as a primary school, the harbour museum, offices, commercial units, and a sports field. The HTQ is located in the south of the district, borders an active harbour area to the west, and includes both banks along the Saalehafen basin as well as the southern bank of the Moldauhafen basin. Almost exclusively offices and commercial units are planned for the HTQ, with the exception of building site 22 east of the Moldauhafen basin. In total, approximately 420,000 m² of GFA is to be created in the HTQ.
