The subject of the framework agreement, according to study no. 11/2026 (Appendix II of the issue of Declaration no. 31/2026), of the Maintenance Department of Green Zones, 4th, 5th Community & Triandria, of the Green and Environment Directorate, is the maintenance and upgrading of the parks, islands and green areas of the schools of the Municipality of Thessaloniki. Maintenance works are planned, supervised by the service, to ensure a high level of maintenance of the green areas, and works in which existing and new areas will be environmentally and aesthetically upgraded. Specifically, the economic operators will be called to execute: A. Maintenance of the already installed green areas, through interventions so that not only is it kept in the best possible condition but is also improved aesthetically and functionally with the execution of works such as: • Maintenance of trees and shrubs, which will include pruning, formation of irrigation basins, fertilisation, irrigation, pruning of trees • Cutting and uprooting of dry shrubs and trees • Maintenance of lawns (cutting, irrigation) • Cleanliness of green areas • Management of the existing irrigation network (checking proper functioning, repairing damage - leaks etc.) in parks, schools, playgrounds, dog parks B. Upgrading of green areas, which includes: Replacement of damaged, improvement of existing irrigation networks. Supplementary interventions such as: • Shaping, preparation of parterres and planting them according to the service's instructions • Planting of trees, shrubs, climbing plants, perennial grasses according to the service's instructions • Supply and installation of ready-made lawns in areas that will be indicated by the service • Sowing of lawns in areas that will be indicated by the service Additionally: Removal of unwanted vegetation - weeds in school courtyards, around schools and in dog parks. The subject of the contract "MAINTENANCE OF PARKS & GREEN AREAS-SCHOOL COURTYARDS OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF THESSALONIKI" includes works that will be carried out in parks and islands with a total area of approximately 663.5 stremmata and in school complexes (66 Nurseries, 68 Primary, 38 Junior High, 46 High Schools-EPA.L.-I.E.K.) of the Municipality of Thessaloniki. It includes maintenance works of green areas in parterres in landscaped squares and playgrounds, in pocket parks, dog parks, parterres in landscaped sports areas, outdoor areas of municipal buildings, in the urban vineyard of 2 stremmata and in the Zoological Garden. The above areas are scattered throughout the Municipality of Thessaloniki. Additionally, works are included in new green areas that may be added during the Contract and in municipal areas that will be indicated by the responsible engineers of the service. The maintenance of the municipal tree-lined avenues and the maintenance of the cemeteries of the Municipality of Thessaloniki is carried out within the framework of other contracts (differentiated geographically) and the subjects of the specific contracts are not included in the present contract. The green areas and planted areas that are maintained within the framework of maintenance obligation from contractors with active contracts, will be included in the present only after the expiry of the contracts. The maintenance works will have a periodicity of application, depending on the seasons of the year and the weather conditions, according to the program that will be drawn up by the Service and the scientific specifications for the healthy development of the green areas.
