Germany – Fire station construction work – Errichtung eines Feuerwehrhauses in innovativer Holzbauweise

The municipality of Wentorf bei Hamburg plans the new construction of a fire station in innovative timber construction, which is to be erected on the property at Fritz-Sprecht-Weg 1, 21465 Wentorf bei Hamburg. The new construction includes, in particular, the following characteristics: • Property area of approx. 10,600 m² • Gross floor area of approx. 3,200 m² • Two full storeys • A vehicle hall with parking spaces for 9 fire engines and a wash hall for one fire engine • Rest and training areas for the volunteer fire department and the youth fire department • Spaces for operational, training and operational purposes • Material storage over two storeys • Workshop area for fire engineering systems • Construction of a training tower with nine storeys • Connection to public road traffic Further details on the characteristics of the new construction can be found in the individual tender lots. The new construction is to be built with consideration of sustainability and innovation goals: A – Fulfillment of selected requirements according to the Assessment System for Sustainable Building (BNB) B – Innovation goals in timber construction, in the form of: • Dissemination of timber construction through visible constructions as an educational object in the context of fire protection requirements • Development of a CO2-neutral energy concept for temporarily used buildings in timber construction, with particular consideration of thermal comfort (storage capacity and summer heat protection) and moisture behaviour • Further use and recycling of timber components in the sense of a circular economy.
