Germany – Architectural and related services – Hochbaulicher Realisierungswettbewerb mit freiraumplanerischen Anteilen "Neuer Verwaltungsstandort Koogstraße mit denkmalgerechter Ergänzung des historischen Rathauses", Stadt Brunsbüttel

Stadt Brunsbüttel, der BürgermeisterGermanyPublished on May 25, 2026
No deadline given

Description

The administrative premises of the City of Brunsbüttel are currently dispersed across various locations within the city. This makes it difficult for citizens to access municipal contact persons and complicates internal administrative coordination and processes. Therefore, the city aims to consolidate its administrative premises. The dilapidated building "Kaiserhof" next to the historic town hall in Koogstraße is derelict. A new building is to be constructed on this site, so that together with the historic town hall, a consolidated administrative site in a central location will be created. To ensure that the historic Brunsbüttel town hall can continue to serve its function as a representative building and workplace for municipal employees in the future, the building needs to be upgraded in many respects. The existing building is to be modernised in accordance with monument protection guidelines regarding fire safety and energy efficiency. To ensure that all people have access to the town hall as a public building and can move around barrier-free within the building, extensive structural changes will be necessary. The 1968 town hall extension is also not barrier-free and is qualitatively and quantitatively no longer up to standard. It cannot be economically upgraded to a modern quality standard and is therefore to be demolished in the future. The extension is to be replaced by modern, high-quality administrative rooms. With the competition, the City of Brunsbüttel aims to obtain high-quality designs for a modern, contemporary and citizen-friendly administrative site that integrates the historic, landmark town hall in a monument-protected and barrier-free manner.
