A new building for the Institutes of Physics with a usable area (NUF 1-6) of approximately 4 800 m² is being constructed at Hans-Sommer-Straße. Half of the area of the four-storey building is designated for laboratories, measuring and weighing rooms, located in the northern part of the building. Other usable areas include office space, seminar rooms and lecture halls. A foyer connecting the floor levels via an atrium serves as the main access. On the ground floor, student workplaces expand the foyer and provide access to the landscaped courtyard. The technical centre extends as a fifth floor over half of the building area.
