Finland – Water purification plant construction work – Pitkäkosken vedenpuhdistuslaitos, PK2 saneeraus TP 9-26
Description
The Pitkäkosken wastewater treatment plant's PK2 clarification and filtration department and related operations will be renovated. The renovation will increase the wastewater treatment capacity of the clarification and filtration department and simultaneously improve the process. The PK2 renovation construction contract includes, among other things, the following works (the list is not exhaustive):
- Renovation of the PK2 clarification and filtration department
- Renovation of sludge treatment
- Renovation of lime clarification
- Changes to carbon dioxide feed
- Changes to ferrin dilution water
- Construction of a lime building (weather protected, work subject to building permit)
- Renovation of a wash water tower (weather protected)
- Installation and testing of separate procurements
- Arrangements required for phasing
- Protection of non-load-bearing underground excavation and canal structures against heavy vehicle traffic with steel access mats on the construction site traffic area
- Support and dewatering of excavations and excavation access ramps
- Sheet piling works
- Construction of underground pipes and their connection to the existing process
- Construction works
- Machinery and process piping works
- HVAC works
- Connection works to existing structures, piping, and systems
- Process and building electrical works
- Instrumentation works
- Building automation
- Cabling works for process and building automation and safety systems
- Protections
- Test runs
- Pressure tests
- Demolition works
- Emptying and temporary arrangements required for the works of pipes, basins, and canals, the plant's users close/open valves and hatches related to the process in use
- Flushing/cleaning/emptying/filling and disinfection works of pipes, basins, and canals before their commissioning and the temporary arrangements required for them. Disinfection works are carried out on a case-by-case basis by spraying or filling the target with a solution of disinfectant and water. Accepted disinfection work requires a clean water sample. The client/user provides the disinfectants, monitors the disinfection, and takes/analyses the clean water samples, all else belongs to the contract.

The contract includes the planned relocations and protections of intersecting conduits and cables. The process automation system works will be carried out as a subcontract. The tender plans are not directly available from the Tarjouspalvelu.fi portal due to the confidential information they contain for the client, and therefore the plans are only available in the preliminary tender invitation for negotiation to the selected candidates after completing the confidentiality agreement for the preparation of the preliminary tender. If desired, the applicant may attach a completed confidentiality agreement already in the application, under section "B.5. CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENT".
