The BEHALA Berliner Hafen- und Lagerhausgesellschaft operates the Westhafen in Berlin and, using the heavy goods lighter URSUS from the Ro-Ro ramp located in the harbour, carries out the transport of gas turbines for the Siemens Energy gas turbine plant regionally and over longer distances. The subject of this procurement is to obtain economical inland waterway transports both in the regional area (short distances with canal pushboats) and over long distances (long distances with pushboats). For the provision of these inland waterway transports, technically suitable canal pushboats and pushboats are required, whose crews must be qualified according to the Binnenschiffspersonalverordnung and able to operate the technical facilities of the goods push lighter URSUS. Furthermore, the optional performance of the gas turbine transports in conjunction with the pushboat ELEKTRA is the subject of the service provision.
