Germany – Architectural, construction, engineering and inspection services – Umgestaltung Leonhardsplatz

The subject of the procedure is the planning of traffic and open spaces for the redevelopment of the Leonhardsplatz, including the connecting areas of Hauptstätter Straße/B 14, Pfarrstraße and Esslinger Straße (approx. 4,000 m²). The aim is to create a high-quality, aesthetically pleasing and functional connection between the Stuttgart Moving Image Center (SMIC), the Leonhardskirche and the adjacent buildings. A pedestrian zone between the SMIC and the Leonhardskirche, the necessary traffic areas around the SMIC, and a homogenous surface design are planned. A site-appropriate equipment, furnishing and greening concept is to be developed while preserving the existing trees. The project must be planned and implemented quickly. Completion of the public spaces is linked to the opening of the SMIC; the requirements for the construction schedule must be taken into account. In the 2nd stage, the selected candidates are to work on a design section.
