Germany – Architectural, construction, engineering and inspection services – Neubau Faulungsanlage KA Müllekoven - Los 01 Ingenieurbau
Description
New construction of a digestion plant at the Troisdorf-Müllekoven sewage treatment plant: The Troisdorf-Müllekoven sewage treatment plant is currently designed for an expansion size of 84,000 PE. The districts of Troisdorf, Troisdorf West, Friedrich-Wilhelms-Hütte, Oberlar, Sieglar, Eschmar, Rotter See, Kriegsdorf, Müllekoven and Bergheim form the catchment area of the sewage treatment plant. The predominantly municipal wastewater flows to the sewage treatment plant via a combined sewer DN 1200. One of the two digesters has exceeded the technical service life of 50 years according to DIN 1995, and the second digester has almost reached the maximum technical service life. In addition, both tanks are asbestos-contaminated. The agitators are outdated. The project includes the new construction of digesters (the current demand planning provides for two digesters), the renewal of the heating system (plus building), the installation of new or existing combined heat and power plants (CHP), the increase of the gas storage volume and the expansion of the power feed-in (emergency power feed-in, in the future together feed-in by AGRI-PV system). The new construction must be carried out while maintaining the existing operation of the sewage treatment plant. The multifunctional heating system for digester and building heating (burns digester gas or oil) is approximately 30 years old and must be technically replaced urgently. It also serves as an emergency system in the event of CHP failure. No spare parts are available. The existing CHPs are over 10 years old and will soon be replaced by new CHPs. In addition, the gas purification plant (Siloxa) is outdated. The feed-in capacity is reached. In addition to the existing gas storage, a new gas tank is to be installed to increase the total storage volume. Only then will intelligent use of AGRI-PV power be possible in the future, as the gas power generation via CHPs will then take place in the evening and night hours. In addition, the "flaring" of excess digester gas will be reduced. According to the EU Urban Wastewater Directive, the energy demand of the sewage treatment plant is to be gradually (2030: 50%; 2035: 75% and 2040: 100%) converted to its own renewable energy generation. The renewal and expansion of digester gas production and gas storage are part of this implementation. It is planned to include the dismantling of the old digesters in the planning process. However, according to the current state of knowledge, the dismantling work will be carried out outside this project at a much later date.
