Contract for the supply by way of leasing. Integrated Electro-optical Wafer Measurement System for the NextChip Chair

The main research objective of the NextChip Chair is to develop a set of scripts and computer programs that allow for automatic and unattended on-wafer measurements of integrated photonic chips. To this end, a module defined as TDK will be designed, which will integrate these functions. For the implementation of this module, it is necessary to lease the equipment required to perform these measurements and live tests, allowing for their debugging and optimization in real-time. The equipment subject to the contract constitutes high-specialization scientific-technical infrastructure, characterized by its high technological integration, rapid evolution and obsolescence, as well as the need for continuous specialized maintenance. The leasing modality is considered the most appropriate due to:

- Optimization of the use of public resources, avoiding high initial investment (CAPEX).

- Possibility of technological updating.

- Inclusion of preventive and corrective maintenance.

- Guarantee of operational availability for research and training.

- Impossibility of purchasing equipment due to the origin of the funds (MRR).
