UZ Leuven is a university hospital where patients can count on specialised care and innovative treatments, combined with humane attention and respect for each individual. Daily, almost 10,000 passionate employees deliver the best possible tailored care. To continue to guarantee the best possible care, it has been chosen to procure an existing Ambient Speech AI solution. This will support doctors and other caregivers during consultations. The contracting authority (UZ Leuven) wishes to - reduce administrative burdens - document consultations more efficiently - improve transcription quality - reduce error margin in reporting - implement safe and compliant AI support. The contract concerns the purchase, implementation, commissioning and support of an Ambient Speech AI solution that is able to: - generate real-time transcription of (medical) conversations - contextual interpretation (medical terminology, domain-specific jargon) - automatic structured reporting based on speech - multilingual processing (at least NL, FR, ENG) - integration with existing systems (EPD, Nexuzhealth). The solution must be fully integrable via a well-documented API in the EPD of Nexuzhealth. The AI tool is for the own nodes of UZ Leuven but also for other healthcare institutions that share the same EPD (via Nexuzhealth). The solution must comply with the EU AI ACT, GDPR, NIS2, the legal framework for data processing and relevant Belgian legislation.
