Description

2.1 Construction project

The EWP GmbH plans to develop a sustainable "green" energy generation site at the Potsdam - Nord Lerchensteig wastewater treatment plant, which will in future supply part of the heat for the Potsdam district heating network, including heat from treated wastewater using clear water heat pumps. To this end, the site of the wastewater treatment plant must be connected to the district heating network. The aim of the construction project is to build a new primary district heating pipeline for transporting the newly generated heat energy from the wastewater treatment plant site to the existing district heating network of the city of Potsdam at the Viereckremise. It is planned to install a buried pipeline made of plastic-coated pipes (standard insulated) in the pressure stage PN25 with a dimension of DN200/315 or DN400/560 with a route length of approx. 3.0 km. The planned route will run east of the wastewater treatment plant site. The first approx. 100 m of the route length will be executed in DN 200/ DaN 315. In the future, further heat sources are to be integrated, which is why the dimension will be increased to DN 400/ DaN 560 from this point on. After leaving the wastewater treatment plant site, the route runs for approx. 1.5 km via field paths to the junction "Amundsenstraße / Am Golfplatz". From here, the route follows the road "Am Golfplatz" to the connection point of the existing district heating network at the Viereckremise.
