Description

The subject of the procurement is the hazardous waste service for the premises of the University of Helsinki and Biomedicum Helsinki Ltd. The University of Helsinki operates in Helsinki on four campuses and 9 other locations in Finland. The largest shareholders of Biomedicum Helsinki Ltd are the University of Helsinki, HUS and the City of Helsinki. The company is responsible for the maintenance and property management of the Biomedicum Helsinki research and teaching centre buildings (Haartmaninkatu 8 and Tukholmankatu 8). The procurement is divided into two parts: 1) chemical and other hazardous laboratory waste and 2) biological and clinical waste generated by the University of Helsinki. The supplier may bid for either or both parts. If the same supplier wins to manage both parts, both parts will be combined into the same contract. Most of the hazardous waste is generated at the Kumpulan, Meilahden and Viikki campuses. Tenants in the University's premises and Biomedicum Helsinki Ltd premises may procure hazardous waste management services under the terms of the forthcoming contract. Tenants will make their own agreements with the service provider.
