A new ESTW-Z will be implemented at the Regensburg Ost railway station. The new signal box will completely replace the existing five mechanical signal boxes. The cable management system will be newly constructed in the following sizes and lengths: Size I with a length of approx. 2.3 kilometers, Size II with a length of approx. 4.4 kilometers, Size III with a length of approx. 1 kilometer, Size IV with a length of approx. 2 kilometers. In addition to the cable management systems, the implementation requires additional crossings and shafts (including sizes II, III, IV, V, VII, IX and X) to ensure the cable connections. As part of the project, crossings with varying pipe lengths of 5 to 50 meters will be realised. In addition to the construction of the ESTW-Z, the project also includes, among other things, the equipping of several track sections with safety technology and overhead line systems, as well as the adaptation of TK and 50Hz systems.
