The project for lorry rest areas is part of ASTRA's response to the identified shortage of lorry parking spaces on the Swiss national road network. On the Geneva – Lausanne section, an adaptation of the layout of the parking spaces on the rest areas Pierre Féline Lac and Jura and Saint-Prex Jura allows an increase in the number of lorry parking spaces. To limit the impact on road users, it was decided to advance the maintenance work on these rest areas and combine it with the work to increase the number of lorry parking spaces. In the same vein, the project is bundled with two sub-projects for the installation of charging stations for electric vehicles (passenger cars).
