Finland – Engineering design services – Otanmäki-Humpinsuo OYK:n vaatima vesihuoltokapasiteetin kasvattaminen

The subject of the procurement is the design of measures required to increase the water supply capacity for the implementation of the Otanmäki-Humpinsuo sub-area master plan. The City of Kajaani has planned the Otanmäki-Humpinsuo sub-area master plan and, as part of it, the Otanmäki-Alussuo detailed plan, which enable the establishment of data centre operations in the area, whose current water supply capacity is not sufficient for the planned operations. Kajaanin Vesi -liikelaitos is tendering for a comprehensive water supply design required by the Otanmäki-Humpinsuo sub-area master plan, which, according to the estimate, includes (to be specified as needed during the design process):

- Clarification (and measurement) of the need for measures using Kajaanin Veden network model (Fluidit)

- Design of a new low-pressure reservoir and pressure boosting station in the immediate vicinity of the site

- Design of a wastewater pumping station, the number and quality of which will be clarified with the network model

- Design of modifications to the piping and capacity increase of the existing low-pressure reservoir and pressure boosting stations as needed

- Design of the water supply and wastewater network as needed

- Design of changes to the control automation required for the changes

A preliminary plan has been made to supply the new master plan area with water from the Kajaani urban area using the planned supply system and utilising the existing connecting water pipe, reversing the current flow direction. A low-pressure reservoir and pressure boosting station will be located near the master plan area. If necessary, the capacity of the connecting water pipe pressure boosting stations will be increased. The wastewater from the master plan area will be sewered to Kajaanin Peuraniemen wastewater treatment plant via the current Otanmäki detailed plan area and the existing transfer sewer. The implementation of the sewerage requires the construction of a new sewer, the renovation of the old one, the construction and renovation of wastewater pumping stations and, if necessary, the increase of the capacity of both the current Otanmäki detailed plan area and the transfer sewer. The measures required to increase the capacity will be prioritised based on those that are essential for implementing the water supply capacity required by the Otanmäki-Alussuo detailed plan area. These measures will be designed for implementation and tendering, and the necessary tendering documents will be prepared for them. Other design will be implemented at the general plan level.
