By the end of 2029, a new and more powerful high-performance computer, state-of-the-art, will be installed in several phases at the data centre in Offenbach. Further installations are also planned for the Potsdam site. To accommodate the expected performance increase of the new IT systems, an expansion of the usable power and cooling supply for the data centres is also required. This expansion is to be completed by the end of 2029 in Offenbach and by the end of 2030 in Potsdam. At the Offenbach site, a partial renewal of the building services is also required. Necessary construction measures to accommodate the new components at both sites and measures for energy efficiency are to be taken into account. At the Potsdam site, a modular expansion option is to be considered in the planning. The DWD (client, hereinafter referred to as the AG) will procure the mainframes themselves and have them installed and ready for operation in coordination with the project measures and the project schedule. Coordination with the power suppliers for electricity has already been carried out by the AG. The subject of this procedure are the required services of "Project control and project management for project stages 1 – 5" according to AHO brochure 9, §2, §3 ff in the current version. This award is made in accordance with the Act against Restraints of Competition (GWB) and the Regulation on the Award of Public Contracts – Award Regulation (VgV), in current versions. The client (AG) is tendering the services in a negotiated procedure according to § 17 (1) VgV in a European-wide tendering procedure with a preceding selection procedure for the provision of project management.
