Sweden – Canal locks construction work – E21 - Nya slussar - Trollhätte kanal, Trollhättan

Observe revised schedule and additional works (lift bridge, Västergärdetbron) below. Contract form: Collaborative contracting (TEM) with Phase 1 according to ABK09 and Phase 2 according to ABT06. In works with new lock approach Trollhättan includes: • Construction of three new locks consisting of an upstream triangular lock and a downstream lock staircase with an intermediate approximately 150 long lock channel • Extensive rock excavation for the lock approach • Lock gates and concrete quays • Lock technology and lock gates • Technical buildings and canal control centre • Widening of existing rock canal • Lift bridge over the rock canal (Västergärdetbron) • Openable bridge over the new lock approach • Dredging of new fairway • Temporary loading port • Construction of roads, footpaths and cycle paths • Dam construction RD piles with crown beam, and lamellar dam • Dam securing existing lock installation, and adaptation of existing lock area • Remediation of contaminated soil on existing industrial area. Approximate quantities: • Rock excavation lock approach: 750 000 m3 • Earth excavation lock approach: 100 000 m3 • Rock excavation rock canal: 80 000 m3 • Concrete: 65 000 m3 • Steel 500 tonnes • Lock gates and quays 1 100 m • Dredging clay: 75 000 m3 • Dredging rock: 15 000 m3
