The city of Alzey is a growing municipality, which, among other things, can boast a steady influx due to the new settlement of the pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly Germany. Increasing pupil numbers, new school construction guidelines and the requirements for full-day care can no longer be reconciled with the existing space and urgently require an extension and optimisation of the Nibelungen Grundschule. This forecast was last recognised (01/2025) by the school authorities and an extension to a 4-track primary school was approved. The subject of the contract are the architectural planning services (HOAI § 34) for a connected extension building including the demolition of the adjacent gymnasium, as well as the redesign of certain areas in the existing school.
