Description

The new building is being constructed on the campus of the University of the Saarland in Saarbrücken and will be used by the Helmholtz Institute. It is an extension for the first construction phase of the Helmholtz Institute for Pharmaceutical Research Saarland (HIPS) and complements it functionally and architecturally. The extension is planned to the east of the existing building and is connected to the existing structure by two bridges, each connecting the office and laboratory corridor of the existing building with that of the new building. The extension is supplemented by terraced parking areas located to the east and integrated into the landscape. The longitudinal axes of the building are aligned with the existing structure. The laboratory axis grid has been chosen to be slightly wider than in the existing structure to ultimately allow for a more flexible arrangement of equipment. This results in a uniform grid for the offices and laboratories, based on a 1.2m module, which contributes to simplifying the construction. The new building is planned as a four-story building with an additional set-back floor and an overall height of approx. 22 m. The construction site is on a slope. The ground floor is accessible at ground level from the garden. The main entrance is on the first floor from street level. The building consists of a ground floor set into the slope and 4 upper floors, with the 4th floor designed as a set-back floor. This contains half of the technical center and a large social room including a roof terrace. Exterior dimensions: approx. 66.00 x 33.00 m. The terraced parking areas consist essentially of three offset parking levels, which are accessed via a laterally located access road (Level 1: 3 disabled parking spaces / Level 2: 24 parking spaces / Level 3: 12 parking spaces). The subject of the tender are the rough construction works for the new research and laboratory building. The scope of services includes the setting up of the construction site, earthworks, foundation works, reinforced concrete works, masonry works, waterproofing and insulation works including the necessary drainage and installation parts in the rough construction. Furthermore, the service includes the production of the watertight building structure (white tank), prefabricated and composite components as well as all associated protective, safety and ancillary services. Laying of ring and foundation earths including concrete installations. Installation of basic supply lines in and under the floor slab. Installation of building entries for the technical building services. ***The contract is related to a project and/or programme financed from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).***
