The Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg established the public corporation SBH | Schulbau Hamburg (hereinafter referred to as SBH) on 01.01.2013 pursuant to § 26(1) of the State Budget Act. This public corporation is tasked with planning, building, maintaining, and managing school properties in accordance with economic principles, taking into account educational needs, and leasing more than 400 schools to the Authority for School and Vocational Training (BSB). The school properties include all land and buildings used for educational purposes by state and vocational schools. The total land area of all general and vocational state schools is approximately 9.1 million m2, and the total usable area is approximately 3.1 million m2. In this capacity, SBH is responsible for the construction of new and replacement buildings, renovation, and demolition at the school site Grundschule Islandstr. 25.
