The Bavarian State Estates (BaySG) operate a research and training centre for poultry farming at the Kitzingen site for current and future research activities in the field of poultry farming and organise cross-company training in vocational training for animal husbandry, specialising in poultry farming, and conduct intermediate and final examinations as well as master examinations. The Bavarian State Estates plan to replace the laying hen barn at the Kitzingen State Estate in two construction phases, including the packing station and associated office and social rooms. The estate serves as a research and training site for both scientific and vocational education. The planned replacement will enable future research at the Kitzingen State Estate into both conventional and organic laying hen farming. For this purpose, a stable unit for conventional and one for organic laying hen farming will be constructed.
