The Stadtwerke Münster GmbH intends to construct a free-field solar thermal plant (ST plant) in the Münster-Mecklenbeck district to support the existing district heating network of the city of Münster. As part of the Mecklenbeck combined project, the planning and tendering of a free-field solar thermal plant and a free-field photovoltaic plant (PV plant) are planned. The ST plant will be constructed with an approximate gross collector area of 85,000 m² on a free field of approximately 19 ha. In addition, a PV plant will be installed, which is primarily designed to cover own consumption.
