GLOSTRUP VAND A/S has decided to construct a new modern waterworks, Glostrup Vandværk. The new waterworks will take over the water supply from two existing waterworks and help to secure the future supply of drinking water to citizens and businesses by using new purification and softening technology. The tendered contract includes necessary pipeline relocations in connection with the establishment of the new waterworks. The construction work involves the establishment of both raw water and treated water pipelines, which must connect the new waterworks with the existing pipeline network and ensure the necessary adjustments in the existing network. Part of the construction work consists of the establishment of two raw water pipelines of approximately 500 meters (Ø280 and associated empty tubes for fibre), which are connected to existing pipelines. Furthermore, four treated water pipelines are established to the waterworks. One pipeline Ø200 of approximately 20 meters is connected to the existing pipeline in Hvissingevej. Furthermore, two pipelines Ø250 of approximately 250 meters are established, which end about one meter into the new waterworks plot and are connected to existing pipelines in Byparkvej. In addition, one pipeline Ø315 of approximately 1,600 meters is laid in a route north of Byparkvej. At Duevej, the pipeline is divided into two, where it continues as Ø315 through Duevej and Sofielundsvej with a connection to the existing pipeline in Nørre Ringvej, and as Ø250 of approximately 450 meters to the connection to the existing pipeline at Rødkælkevej. The contractor must be involved in connection with the logistics and planning of the construction work, especially at Duevej and Sofielundsvej. Generally, two construction methods are expected to be used; open-cut laying and guided horizontal directional drilling.
