Denmark – Works for complete or part construction and civil engineering work – Højen 1, etape 2

Horsens Municipality is carrying out stage 2 of the reconstruction of Højen 1 into a special education school facility. The stage includes approximately 4,545 m² of reconstruction of clusters 3, 4, partially 5 and 6, as well as cluster 7 with associated outdoor areas and adjustment of parking conditions. The aim is to create safe, comprehensible learning environments for children and young people with special needs. The existing buildings from the 1980s are preserved and sensitively upgraded with a focus on the reuse of materials such as brick walls and wooden structures, which provide robust, contemporary frames and a stable indoor climate. The classrooms in clusters 3 and 4 will have their own changing rooms, rest rooms and direct access to courtyards, which are designed for quiet play and teaching in confined and safe surroundings. Common areas will have integrated hygiene rooms and toilets. In cluster 5, staff facilities will be established, while cluster 7 will be set up for creative workshop rooms. The interior design and material choices prioritise robustness, reuse and a calm colour palette that supports well-being and predictability for the students. The outdoor areas will be upgraded with level access, new surfacing and enclosed courtyards. The terrain will be adapted for better accessibility, and the parking area will be reconstructed and reorganised. Pre-qualified tenderers must submit/upload proof of ESPD before the announcement of the winner.
