Description

Site description: The planned measure involves the demolition of the existing lounge facilities down to the shell. This will be followed by the conversion into a security control point with new CT scanners. This measure aims to further increase the capacity of security checks and to adapt to the current security standard. In addition to the actual control lanes, the existing ancillary rooms (i.e. office, rest, smoking) will also be renovated and adapted. The construction site covers a gross floor area of approximately 1,120 m². The sprinkler system at Munich Airport is designed according to the VdS guideline. This bill of quantities includes work on the NAV 54 sprinkler system of Flughafen München GmbH. The aforementioned group has a size of over 500 to 1,000 sprinklers. The bill of quantities includes services for the maintenance of sprinkler systems/ fire extinguishing systems, in particular dismantling and re-installation work. Allocation of Sprinkler Control Centre The group NAV 54, which is to be adapted, is supplied from the sprinkler control centre SPZ 6 in building 111.04 - Terminal 1 Departure/Arrival Module C. The sprinkler control centre is located on levels 01/02 and is accessible from the security area. Access to the sprinkler control centre, for example for shutdowns and start-ups, must be registered with the FMG fire department in good time. In addition, a red safety pass is required for access. Design and system parameters in the renovation area After consultation with VdS experts, the following system parameters have been taken into account in the planning: - The planning was carried out according to VdS CEA4001. - Fire hazard class OH4 (considered as an assembly area) - Sprinkler K-factor: 80 - Response temperature: 68°C (red glass bulb) - Response sensitivity: Fast, RTI<50 - Water application 5.0 mm/min - Effective area 360 m² (wet system according to OH4) Adjacent to existing areas In the adjacent existing areas, sprinklers with a 10 mm glass bulb are partially installed. If sprinkler heads in the renovation area are renewed and are adjacent to areas with existing sprinklers (10 mm) without a structural separation, sprinkler heads with a similar response behaviour must be used. A corresponding situation, as described above, is likely to be in the public area of the check-in hall. Accordingly, for the area of the waiting zone, sprinkler heads with an RTI value of 80 - 200 (standard response behaviour) are provided. The exact existing situation is to be checked at the start of the construction work and, if necessary, newly installed sprinkler heads are to be re-coordinated and determined. In renovation areas which are structurally and spatially separated from existing areas, sprinklers with an RTI value < 50 are used.
