The terranets bw is planning the "Spessart-Odenwald-Leitung (SPO)". The planned natural gas transport pipeline, with a total length of approximately 117 kilometers (DN 1,000, DP 90 bar), runs through the Federal State of Hesse and the Free State of Bavaria. The route largely follows the course of the existing Mitte-Deutschland-Anbindungs-Leitung (MIDAL). In the Federal State of Hesse and the Free State of Bavaria, the SPO runs from north to south through the districts of Main-Kinzig, Aschaffenburg, Offenbach, Darmstadt-Dieburg and Bergstraße.
