Denmark – Clothing, footwear, luggage articles and accessories – Udbud af kontrakt vedrørende levering af tøj til asylansøgere m.fl.

The Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (Udlændingestyrelsen) is responsible for procuring and managing accommodation for asylum seekers, among others, pursuant to Section 42a, paragraph 5, of the Aliens Act. In practice, a number of accommodation operators run these facilities on behalf of the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration. When a foreign national submits an application for asylum in Denmark, the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration covers the foreign national's subsistence until they are granted or refused a residence permit, or are deported or expelled, pursuant to Section 42a, paragraph 1, point 1, of the Aliens Act, but see paragraphs 3 and 4. Covering the foreign national's subsistence includes, among other things, the provision of clothing packages and individual clothing items for women, men, and children. The Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration is now tendering the task of purchasing, packing, and delivering clothing to asylum seekers, among others, with effect from 1 February 2027. The tendered contract is not divided into sub-contracts, pursuant to Section 49, paragraph 2, of the Public Procurement Act, as the contracting authority considers that not dividing the contract into sub-contracts allows for economies of scale to be achieved. Furthermore, the contracting authority considers that dividing the contract into sub-contracts would entail administrative costs in connection with contract administration.
