Switzerland – Engineering works and construction works – Amélioration du passage inférieur de l'Avenue du Mont-Blanc en faveur des mobilités douces

The lower section of Avenue du Mont-Blanc, and its connections to the upper roads (Rte de Nyon and Ch. de la Crétaux), is a crucial link in terms of soft mobility regarding access to the station. This access has increased strategic importance given the current development of the Avouillons district, notably by the Swissquote project. For these reasons, the town of Gland carried out a feasibility study in 2020 aimed at improving this access, particularly with regard to people with reduced mobility. The development of this study led to the current project consisting of the construction, on the Lake and Jura side, of a lift surrounded by 4 flights of stairs. These elements replace the existing flights of stairs at the same two locations.
