Belgium – Vats – FOURNITURE ET INSTALLATION D’ÉQUIPEMENTS ET STRUCTURES POUR UN PILOTE DE CAPTURE DE CO2

This contract concerns the construction of a CO2 capture pilot plant at the central heating plant of the Sart-Tilman Campus (B10). In practice, this pilot plant must enable the capture of 1 tonne of CO2 per day, which is a scale that is quite representative of industrial reality. It implements a chemical absorption technology. Due to the climate crisis, CO2 capture from industrial chimneys has become a fundamental challenge for any environmental policy. To reduce the risks of this new technology, the construction of pilot units is an indispensable step. This project therefore pursues scientific, educational, and technological objectives. Finally, this capture unit is designed to be mobile. After operation at the Sart-Tilman heating plant, we plan to move it to other industrial sites to study its suitability for flue gases with different compositions and characteristics. This contract includes both the supply of metal elements and the work related to the construction and assembly of the metal installations of the pilot plant.
