Belgium – Fruit, vegetables and related products – Fruit/(snoep)groenten op school

To encourage children to adopt healthier eating habits, schools can apply for a subsidy through the Oog voor Lekkers campaign by the Flemish government to distribute a portion of fruit or vegetables as a snack to their pupils on a fixed school day per week. The 7 municipal schools in Hasselt are participating in this project and are expanding the healthy snacks to 2 portions per week through the subsidy for healthy school meals provided by the department of supporting educational policy of the city of Hasselt. This contract involves the delivery of fresh fruit and (snack) vegetables to the participating schools within the territory of the city of Hasselt.
