The Foundation Schloss Dyck intends to renaturate and revitalise the Kelzenberger Stream. This stream, which has dried up due to the lowering of the water table from the Garzweiler opencast mine, is to be integrated into the water supply system of the moats of Schloss Dyck, renaturated over a length of 800 m and made accessible again. In addition, the near-bank areas of the stream and the adjacent moats are to be designed in a sustainable, conservation-appropriate and tourist-attractive manner and an experience and information trail on the topics of ecology, biodiversity, water and climate adaptation is to be created. Furthermore, a play and experience world is to be created in the so-called Breitweiher, a dried-up tributary, which makes the handling of water and nature actively experienceable.
