Description

**I. Project**

The city of Aurich plans to build two new canteens for the introduction of full-day schooling at primary schools.

**1. New construction of a canteen at Upstalsboom Primary School**

A canteen for a three-stream full-day operation is required for Upstalsboom Primary School. The aim is to erect a modern, functional and barrier-free canteen building. Currently, 199 pupils attend the primary school. The new building is to be constructed on the school grounds, close to the school building. The single-storey stand-alone building must be accessible to pupils without barriers and is to be equipped with energy-efficient technologies. The canteen needs capacities for a maximum occupancy of 300 pupils, who will take their meals in a shift system. Modern kitchen and food service facilities are planned. The design should be multifunctional with additional rooms for quiet areas and differentiation, so that the pedagogical requirements of a full-day school are met. A welcoming, child-friendly and at the same time functional atmosphere should be created. The Building Department of the city of Aurich has already prepared a preliminary design for the application for funding, which serves as the basis for the further planning of the construction project. The CAD data will be made available after the order has been placed.

**Space programme:**

* Pupil area: Dining rooms 4, Support/Quiet room 2 approx. 295 sqm

* Entrance and WC areas: approx. 50 sqm

* Canteen kitchen area: Service, Preparation, Dishwashing kitchen with ancillary rooms approx. 135 sqm

**2. New construction of a canteen at Wallinghausen Primary School**

A canteen for a two-stream full-day operation is required for Wallinghausen Primary School. The aim is to build a modern, functional and barrier-free canteen. Currently, 168 pupils attend the primary school. The canteen is to be built as an extension to a clubhouse on the school grounds, close to the school building. For this purpose, an existing former residential building and a plant room must be demolished. The demolition is part of the project scope. The single-storey building with the canteen, the necessary ancillary rooms and a changing room for club use will then be attached to the clubhouse. The building must be accessible to pupils without barriers and is to be equipped with energy-efficient technologies. The canteen needs capacities for a maximum occupancy of 200 pupils, who will take their meals in a shift system.
