Section 130a Paragraph 8 of the German Social Code Book V (SGB V) enables health insurance funds and pharmaceutical companies to conclude framework discount contracts for medicines to be dispensed at the expense of the statutory health insurance funds. With regard to the applicable legal provisions for the award of public contracts, a regular process of substance-related, formal tendering procedures according to the regulations of Part 4 of the German Act Against Restraints of Competition (GWB) is carried out by DAK-Gesundheit. For medicines to be specified by the bidder in more detail in Annex 2 to the contract, relating to the above-mentioned substance Calcium Carbonate + Colecalciferol + Risedronate, ATC M05BB04, DAK-Gesundheit intends to conclude discount contracts with as many interested pharmaceutical companies as possible until new drug discount contracts come into force. A discount contract under the approval model for the above-mentioned substance will come into effect for the first time on 01.07.2026 and will end on 30.06.2028 (plus extension option 1x12 months). It will end automatically with the entry into force of the exclusive contract, regardless.
