At Hans-Sommer-Straße, a new building for the Institutes of Physics with a usable area (NUF 1-6) of approximately 4800 m² is being constructed. Half of the area of the four-storey building is designated for laboratories, measurement and weighing rooms, which are located in the northern part of the building. Additional usable areas include office space, seminar rooms and lecture halls. A foyer connecting the floor levels via an atrium serves as the main access. On the ground floor, student workplaces expand the foyer and provide access to the landscaped courtyard. The technical centre extends over half of the building area as a fifth floor.
