Ruhrbahn GmbH, on behalf of the city, ensures the mobility of citizens and connects the individual districts by bus, underground, and tram. It is a member of the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr. One of its tasks is the maintenance and new construction of infrastructure for buses and trams. This refers to both the route networks in the urban areas of Essen and Mülheim and the associated buildings, depots, administrative buildings, and a large number of smaller properties. Ruhrbahn GmbH is modernising the infrastructure at the site on Ruhrallee through various construction measures. One of the projects initiated for this purpose is the construction of new outdoor lighting and the power supply of the new communications distributors in the outdoor area of the H2 refuelling station at the Ruhrallee depot in Essen.
