Belgium – Electricity distribution and control apparatus – Levering, installatie en inbedrijfstelling van technieken voor een nieuw hoogspannings-kopstation en noodstroomvoorziening voor het Ziekenhuis Oost-Limburg, campus Sint-Jan

The Ziekenhuis Oost-Limburg wishes to expand the electrical capacity of the Sint-Jan campus. The current campus has an electrical capacity of 5 MVA via an internal high-voltage loop. Due to expansion (approx. 60,000 m²) and as part of the energy shift (phasing out gas as an energy source), a higher connection capacity is required. A design was made to connect with two feeders of 10 MVA each to the Langerlo (Genk) substation. To ensure continuity in case of failure/maintenance of one feeder, four emergency generators of 2.5 MVA each will capture the power. The existing high-voltage loop needs to be rerouted to the new head station. The contract concerns the supply and related services such as engineering, testing, commissioning, training, and maintenance of technicians for the complete installation of a new high-voltage head station, including (but not limited to): - high-voltage installations (switchgear, protection, measurement and protection relays, …); - low-voltage installations; - emergency power supply via generators (incl. necessary couplings/switching); - control/automation and data/communication facilities; - lighting; - high-voltage cabling to existing cabinets and couplings with existing infrastructure; - Integration of existing masterpacts into the control system of the new head station - testing, commissioning, training of operating personnel; - documentation and as-built files; - possible initial maintenance and service obligations; - night work. A second part of the contract is the execution of a maintenance/service contract during the lifetime of the installation. Additionally, at least one functional test per year of the controls of this head station.
