The Bavarian State Estates (BaySG) operate a research and training centre for poultry farming at the Kitzingen site for current and future research activities in the field of poultry farming and organise inter-company training for vocational training as an animal keeper, specialising in poultry farming, and conduct the intermediate and final examinations as well as the master's examination. The Bavarian State Estates plan to replace and rebuild the laying hen barn in two construction phases, including the packing station and associated office and social rooms at the Kitzingen State Estate. The estate serves as a research and training site for both scientific and vocational education. The planned replacement and rebuilding will enable the Bavarian State Estates to address questions relating to both conventional and organic laying hen farming in the future at the Kitzingen State Estate. For this purpose, a stable unit for conventional and one for organic laying hen farming will be constructed.
