The DLR plans to erect a medium-voltage installation for the controlled electrical supply of a high-power electric heater in the Store2REPower project. The system is to be installed in a concrete container provided by the DLR at the Cologne site. The aim is to test the operation of electric heaters in the power range up to approximately 1 MW and 6000V. The final electrical rating data, in particular operating voltage, maximum power, current, load switching and interfaces to the respective heater, will be specified in the further procedure. The subject of the later work is the detail planning, manufacture, delivery, testing and documentation of a complete medium-voltage installation or a Power Control Panel. A metal-enclosed, type-tested medium-voltage switchgear assembly according to IEC 62271-200 with at least one incoming field and one power field is envisaged. The incoming field is intended for the medium-voltage supply from the existing building installation and should include switching, isolating, earthing and protective functions. The power field is to contain a medium-voltage power control unit for the stepless or regulated power supply to the electric heater.
