Switzerland – Public utilities – IWB, Bereitstellung von Dienstleistungen für NES-Systemsoftware (SIP-Platinum)

IWB Industrielle Werke BaselSwitzerlandPublished on Sep 09, 2026
Deadline passed

Description

Currently, IWB has 84,000 smart meters in operation. IWB will continuously expand this number to meet the legislative target. To operate these devices, software is used that is continuously developed with the aim of improving and correcting existing functions and expanding them with new ones, derived from practical suggestions and wishes, changing system environments (updated system software, etc.) or legal frameworks. Therefore, the software must be regularly updated. IWB uses the software from the supplier NES. However, the updates to the software (see Appendix C1 "SIP Datasheet") are not delivered directly to the suppliers by NES, but exclusively via resellers, so-called development partners. The company NES offers extensive support for the NES system software, NES software tools and the associated NES components (data concentrators, meters, load switches, OSGP terminals). With the Software Investment Protection (SIP) Platinum Service, all further developments and system improvements are covered. The NES maintenance (SIP Service Platinum) includes software and firmware updates within the same releases as well as upgrades to further releases for meters, DC/DCN and NES system software (Head End System), NES Provisioning Tool and NES Diagnostics Tool as well as telephone and web-based technical support. Due to the software used at IWB, "SIP Platinum" or equivalent is required. IWB needs a reseller who will provide us with the system adaptations according to SIP Platinum at a data handover point defined by IWB for the next four years (2027-2030).
