The Labour Force Survey (LFS) is a sample survey covering the population living in private households in Luxembourg. The survey provides annual and quarterly results on the labour market participation of persons aged 15 and over, as well as on so-called inactive persons. The survey is conducted in parallel in all EU Member States as well as in a few countries outside the EU and thus enables comparable data to be provided for all these countries. By providing data on employment, unemployment and inactivity, the Labour Force Survey is an important source of information on the labour market situation and trends in Luxembourg and in the European Union. The data is broken down by age, sex, level of education, between temporary and permanent employment, between full-time and part-time employment, and according to many other criteria. The survey results are disseminated through various publications of the STATEC. The results are also published by Eurostat.
